M-44 with scope.

I bought an M-44, has anyone tried the 3.5 PU scope with it? What is a very good mount to buy..91/30 mount?

7.62x54? You can take moose and grizz if you handload some decent 200gr bullets. I don't know how to put a scope on, but I will definitely not drill my M44. If you practice more, I think you are good to go for 200 yard with iron sight.

Deer and black bear? Let 7.62x39 take care of them.

I put a PU mount on mine, it works great. I bought a bushnell scopechief for it, it looks the part and does the job well. I don't think much of the original PU scopes, and even less of the cheapo new ones.
