My son's M 70 Super Shadow(CRPF) 270 WSM, is not ejecting.

Rifle bought new a year ago May. He went away to work, less than 50 rounds through it.

Will not eject, pull the bolt all the way to the rear, casing stays attached to bolt. Pulls off easily.

Any ideas what to look for???

What is the warranty on a Winnie??

Thanks guys

The problem is usually grease/oil that has hardened and prevents the ejector from doing its job. Dismantle, degrease very well and very very very lightly lubricate just enough to prevent rusting. The degreasing is the clincher here. It's also why too much lube causes problems when hunting in cold weather.

Didn't work.

The ejector just doesn't feel smooth, feels like it is grinding.

I am wondering if the young fella got some moisture back there and put it away for the winter.

How hard is it to get the ejector off. I see a pin, much to it?

Pretty straight forward, just use the right size punch and remember the way the spring is held in place, a picture of the assembled parts before you start is helpfull if you think you might forget the sequence. Check the machined slot where the ejector fits for any burrs or corrosion and smooth it out with fine emery cloth wrapped around a flat metal ruler or similar. The ejector should move smoothly without any hesitation, they are usually very reliable. Also check that the ejector itself has no burrs or is not bent. Oil lightly when reasembling.

I'm guessing that this is the "Classic"? Control Round Feed?
How far does the ejector protrude from the boltface when the bolt is completely to the rear? Sounds like it isn't out far enough to get a good hit on the head of the case.
