M+M CEO Considered Pulling M10X Rifle From Canada After Brouhaha - CDN Gun Blog

A price pimp (once again ) is someone who encourages dealers to jack the price up by running their mouth. "I'll pay anything." So, as foretold by the great eye, few will sell and they will be reclassified due to low numbers. In any case I'll eat a Snickers and you can not be butt hurt with every little comment. Fair enough? You have tiger blood and you're #winning.

Bhahahahahha what are you a 14 year old high school girl!?!??!?

#winning # tigers blood #m10xwinning #price pimps # # #

Hahahahhahahahhahahahahahah

I hope you actually see the only reclassification Deckard, will be every semi or ANYTHING that looks scary.
If you can't see what the liberals actually want, well then your all seeing eye is broken and jaded

I understand your position here as stated. However, I've seen M&M comments and plans going back several years. They're contradictory and not coming to fruition - there is nothing special about said planned CDN release. Given everything M&M has spewed, I'll believe it when I see it.

You've been wrong on most of the markup assumptions on other rifles, retail and distribution to dealers compared to direct (at higher currency rates than now). And, direct to dealer sales went south rather quick, if that was ever true to begin with. And non justifiable high cost on some NR's have been called out. When asked where is the outrage, well, how many others have had such public blunders where we can compare so much info; existing features, perceived sales, and future pricing, in addition to M&M having foot in mouth disease with BS marketing, media release and down right sleazeball comments. Especially since MSRP and Dealer pricing was exposed. It's a lot different than other examples raised.

I think I get more flak from some because it appears I am defending M+M pricing of this rifle. So let me clear that up. I KNOW they put the price above what it should sell for here. I have said before that they are trying to say the rifle they will manufacture for sale here is going to have a bunch of upgraded parts over the previous $1250 US MSRP model. I have stated that without seeing the rifles side by side its impossible to know how much added value is ACTUALLY in the rifle to justify some increase... and there very well may be some... but not enough to get to $2k.

That is the Non-Restricted markup that I hve pointed out exists on almost every other rifle out there.

I don't know what happen with Wanstalls. If you pay attention to what was 'actually' said by various parties, lots of interpretation and assumptions have been made by forum readers. The only ones giving sleazy remarks has be from M&M, read carefully at how things were worded.

1) I don't believe M&M at all. For so many reasons stated elsewhere. Could it have been that way at various points in time, years go when this was planned. Since then M&M's haven't been selling at those ridiculous market prices as called out in US forums and vids. They've never sold a significant number - and kept making changes for 'premium' rifle without delivering for a couple years. They failed in the US, so are trying to hit up Canada, for something they had stated was for domestic sales.

2) Where did you get this information, just a handful of posts? I've seen them too, doesn't mean much at all. We also know how NS handles warranty. Not such a good rep there.

So enjoy your gun when you get it, seriously. As for me, I wont buy one. I've been following this drama from the beginning and there is far to much BS and contradiction in everything M&M says...

My points have largely been this:

1. Wanstalls has been given a pretty big pass by guys here because of the blind anger at M+M... much of which is from untrue beliefs. There is tons of proof now that M+M has always planned on selling their 18.5" "upgraded" M10x for $1500 US and $2k CAD. Just because US dealers almost always sell below MSRP deant mean the same fro Canadian dealers. Apples and oranges marketwise. I do believe M+M on this issue.

2. The rifle itself does seem like a decent rifle that so far has been backed by M+M reasonably well when people have issues with it. I see a lot of speculation from guys angry about one thing just blanket stating the rifle is crap too because of that anger. I for one think it is worty of a shot since most I have read is nothing but positive... it is the price that sours many and that is ok... but just direct anger in the right direction.

Btw... I actually got a killer deal on my new F-150 :)

Well having brought this down to terms most understood by our perennial offended elite, I'm going out hunting. When I'm back in the truck warming up we can catch up on the latest. Always fun.

Great question.. A answer or not will tell us a lot??

Na....we won't get an answer on that....it would be dealer suicide if he gives a straight Yes or No answer (ya...even if it's a No). At beast Ryan would reply something to the extend of "That is besides the point" ...

We may not get an answer, but I've been informed there is nothing stating sale price. Dealers choose their selling price and margins. Obviously selling at or as close to MSRP maximizes profits. As one would expect.

Were you forced by the distributor to sell the M10x at the $1999.00 MSRP ?

Had this discussion in another thread.
MSRP is simply that , key word "suggested "
Like buying a new car the MSRP sticker is proudly displayed in bold with the ACTUAL price being much lower.
This lulls the customer into the sense that they are getting a deal by paying below MSRP.

I really can't understand why M+M didn't follow these basic marketing proven strategies.
After all it is simple business 101....

Oh yeah because they hired some Cdn rep ..... lol now that is funny

No one is making any of the retailers sell this rifle @ 1999.99
That is a given !

Do you even need to ask such a silly question. No difference than Vortex dictating pricing.

Hold on now, lol that's a stretch. A simple question was asked, that would allude to the deal between NS and Dealers. Nothing more.

Guys already calling out SFRC saying answer or not doesn't matter seems like people already have their minds made up on how this should play out and saying it's "dealer suicide" seems like it to me

There will be some shops sell lower, and some that stick to MSRP. Some places were still trying to sell NS T97's for $1000+ while they have been $750 for months now. Hell some places were selling them for $850 within 2 weeks of them landing while others kept the price at $1100.
You won't get any deals out of the pre-order shops. You probably will out of some others once they land.
