I saw this online and thought it looked pretty cool. Doesn't appear to be an AK variant. Think we could have this at some point?

Uh, what part doen't appear to be an AK variant? Is it the AK sheet metal reciever? The AK action compnents? Or, as mentioned, the manufacturer flat out claiming it's based on the AK?

The RCMP just prohibited a simple .22 rifle based on having an AK47 style stock. You think they will let this through?

The Liberals were just voted in. There is 0% chance this is coming to Canada. That and the fact its a AK variant. Dunno why anyone including the OP would think it could make it here.

Well, there's no front trunion, the barrel isn't fixed to the lower, it won't take an AR upper (no rear latch), there's no receiver extension so it's neither. That said, we're not going to get it, because there's no way the lab will approve anything they don't have to. They've been holding guns off for 3 years waiting for her royal highness princess Justin or clown prince Tom to give them carte blanche and now they've got it, so if you're a shooter, they're going to scrw you hard, without lubrication, or the offer of a dinner.

And MM is actually making a 18.5 versions for the Canadian market. Iv888 spoke about it in a video at shot show this year and directly spoke to the MM submission for the Canadian market.

So it a "we'll see" and a wait and see for now.
