Does anyone know if you can buy just the 15-22 pistol upper? I have the rifle but being able to swap to a 6" barrel would be nice.
I messaged irunguns. Again Ive seen the complete pistol but dont know about just an upper.
In the US. I guess there are sbr laws and mixing the two uppers is a no no unless you have he right paperwork.
Im guessing its like our restricted licence.
Hanks for your help!!!!

I looked into the same thing extensively when I had my 15-22. I never found a way of buying just a pistol upper. I even contacted S&W, but no luck. I also contacted Dlask about custom building a short barrel but that was a no go. You can buy a complete pistol in the US and import it. Then swap the uppers, regardless of barrel length it is still just restricted. Unfortunately you are looking at about $1200 all in for a 15-22 pistol landed in Canada. This is why I decided to sell my 15-22 and get a .22 AR to be able to source a wider variety of .22 short barrel uppers (and the ability to have 25+ round mags unpinned).

This is what I had in mind:

It would be nice to be able to mix and match 15-22 uppers, like these:

What short barrels did you find?

For the 15-22: none, unfortunately
For the AR: there are the Chiappa as already mentioned plus CMMG, NEA, Model 1, and probably others I am forgetting. You also have the option of using a .22 conversion bolt with any 5.56 upper. I used a CMMG conversion bolt with an LMT 10.5" upper, until I bought a dedicated 9.2" CMMG upper:
