M&P .22 takedown lever concern

Question for anyone who has plenty of trigger time on this.

I looked this over the other day and saw the takedown lever is plastic. Considering you have to pull it out every time you take it down, im concerned that sucker is gunna break at some point.

Anyone think the same way after spending time with it or does it feel durable enough?
 
I haven't taken it apart more than a couple times, but my gun went through 1000+ rounds without needing to be cleaned, so I don't imagine that lever needs to be used too often.

I will say I heard of one instance where the lever broke, and did have a look at it when taking it down. I really couldn't understand why or how it could have broken when I did though. Really takes very little force to pull it out so I am not really concerned.
 
Sorry there,I don,t know anything about M&Ps. I Just like your youser name, and it seems we joined this group about the same time.I have some hand guns but I am mostly into exotic weaponry.
