Hello all
I have read in a couple places that I could buy the 9mm barrel and swap it into my M&P 40. Has anyone actually done this? The one place on the internet stated that the 9mm even fed out of the 40 mags. Is this crazy talk or something that someone has done? I love the 40 but the 9 is cheaper to play with.
Thanks

I don't have the 9mm barrel for my M&P40, however i did borrow some 9mm from a buddy and put them in my .40 mag's. Yes they do fit, and seemed like they'd feed well although a bit loose. plus you get 13 rounds of 9MM in a .40 cal mag.

You want the Storm Lake 9mm/40 conversion barrel. I got mine from Irunguns.ca and it's a thing of beauty. Some people put a stock 9mm barrel in their 40s..but this is _not_ recommended...the fit is not precise and can lead to bad wear problems down the road.

You will need 9mm mags also...they're hard to find. Try Al Flaherty.

Thanks for the advise guys. I don't want to add any unneeded wear to M&P just to save a little on ammo costs. I think ill save up for the proper barrel conversion.

I recently picked up a Storm Lake MP40 .40 to 9mm barrel purchased from a sponsor of CGN. Fit is very good still need to take it to the range and try it out though. I did try some 9mm in my .40 magazines but they mostly did not stay in the magazine. Most of my magazines are not new and likely have worn from use. I will try a new mag in a couple of days and let you know. I am probably going to buy some dedicated 9mm magazines just to have reliable loading while using it. I just like the idea of having the conversion to shoot the less expensive 9mm ammo. I have got to get into reloading soon to keep my .40 caliber fed though.

Regards,

Izzit
