Hey there everyone , just had a interesting question , well interesting to me lol .

I just took my brand new m&p 40 out this weekend and tried 3 different types of ammo from a bench rest position with a sandbag so i know what happened was not my trigger pull.

Anyway i did 3 sets of 5 shots each from a rest and then 10 standing (time got cut short , family issue) .

First 5 shots all grouped about 1 1/2" inches a nice little circle in the low right area , i figured it was me , so i shot the next five aiming center mass of target again just like before and the group laid right over the last one . So with the next 5 , i moved my sights left and to the top of the target and sure enough they were near dead center .

Question , I notice these sights only move back and forth horizontally . But they Dont seem to want to budge.. is there a special tool thats needed ?

I'd still wager it's your trigger pull. A bench rest and sandbag won't absolve all your "sins".

Good point, I certainly wouldn't "adjust" anything until after the trigger is broken in (1,000 rounds) and I was absolutely certain it wasn't me. Have someone watch you shoot standing unsupported, and do the "ball and dummy" drill.

Kind of impossible to be dropping the front of my barrel if has no where to go ?

Perhaps.

Have a buddy shoot it, if he experiences the same shenanigans - you may have a case. Try the least expensive fix first. I found this out through experience, a 226 that shot low-left - after I had bought the sight push and a couple other doo-hickeys.

Ok , yeah because i was going to say quite a few people have seen me shoot and they all say my motions are quite smooth even for a beginner.

All 3 sets of 5 on the first target sitting at benchrest were slow creep until break shots and they all grouped in the same place .

But ill put another 200 - 250 through it this weekend and see what happens.
