M&P .40 to 9mm conversion ?

Hey guys is it true you can take a stock .40 m&p and simply swap a 9mm mag and a 9mm barrel into it and shoot 9mm ? I have seen a few people mention this but just wondering if i can and should do this. If so, where is a good place in canada to get a barrel ? Tried asking questar but they don't have it and brownells have them, but if you buy from them the state dept. requires a license to get one here. Anyone done this at all ? Is it too much BS ? Thanks.

Yes you can go from a .40 to a 9mm but not the other way. As for barrels, look at some of the sponsors listed above.

Actually..... I put my buddies .40 slide on my 9mm..... then I put a mag down range with it.... It seemed to work fine, no FTF or FTE. It felt the same as when I shot his M&P before we tried his slide on my frame. The grips are exactly the same, The slide looks the same as well (I didn't have a micrometer or anything so I can't say for sure)

I didn't try "just the barrel" I swapped out the slide and that was it.

His barrel fits in my slide but I was too chicken to try it with just the barrel.
