I have a M&P 9MM and enjoy it. Very accurate and perfect for SSP in IDPA. Not sure what the issue is with the take down lever. I just use a car key or small screwdriver to push it down. If I had longer finger nails I would just use my index finger. I intend to use a small piece of dowel as a mag when hammering down. We can't remove safeties in IDPA that come with the gun. That said, since some pistols were issued without the mag safety and were not imprinted with the warning I am not sure how a SO/RO is ever going to be able to call you on it. I know as a SO I won't be making the call. Not sure what IPSC RO's would do.
