I'm looking for a left handed holster for my S&W m&p9, the one that came in the range kit was a right handed holster. Any lefties out there that have any recomendtions?

I like the blackhawk SERPA "CQC" models. They are not a "duty" type rig but one designed for plainclothes which would work well with normal dress at the range. It would even work well with a battle-belt setup for a faster draw than a duty holster. They come with both a paddle and a belt-slide attachment.
http://w ww.lapolicegear.com/blcqcsehomaf.html shows the left-handed M&P9/40 version in stock.

Depending on what you are looking for, a Raven Concealment holster might be a good choice. I have one for my M&P, along with a modified Range Kit holster.

Blade tech - dstactical has more stuff in stock if you call them. Their website never has all of the things they have in store.
Raven concealment - either from raven or oneshottactical
safariland - if you need retention

I picked up a Fobus LH paddle holster from Amazon for $28.00. It seems okay, but I don't intend to use it much. It just seemed like something I should buy.

Thanks everyone, I'll have a look at all the suggestions. I'd be happy for now with something similar to the bladetech that came with the range kit. I'll need one when I get signed up for a course in the new year, then maybe general range use. I'll drop by dstactical, they're 5-10 away.

i was in the same boat as you, being a left handed shooter, and i have 2 of the range kits (9 and 40).
i went to blade tech's web site and ordered a left handed holster directly from them.
holster is great but i got owned on the cost of it.
between the shipping and the conversion and such i ended up paying triple what i was expecting.
then last year i was in Edmonton and hit Cabela's and was able to pick up a couple Blackhawks and i think it was a uncle mikes and some other brand as well, all of them where like $20-25 each.
so save yourself some money and hit a store.
OR
ive seen on eBay you can order these plastic stuff that you heat up and form around your gun to make your own custom fitted holster.
i think i may try that stuff, looks kinda neat.

Hi there. I make kydex holsters. They have been used in multiple pistol courses and held up. If you are interested I can make one with or without lights. Pm me if you are interested. Cheers

Checked out the blackhawk serpa and safariland holsters at DStactical the other week, both are nice and the same price basically. The serpa wins due to being smaller, but I think a level1 retention holster is what I want initially. I'll pick a serpa up later on most likely, was eyeballing some nice leather desantis holsters as well. Anyone have a desantis? Dstactical didn't have any for the m&p in stock but I've been looking on eBay and Amazon and can pick up a level1 desantis in the 40-60$ range shipped, I'm a sucker for leather when it boils down to it.

SERPA is a giant piece of crap, as are Uncle Mikes and FOBUS.

They are not holsters - but gun caddy's to protect a gun sitting in a safe.

I'm partial to Raven Concealment - as I wear one everyday.

my buddy called S&W and they are sending him a left hand version of the holster for free if he sends the right hand holster to them

That's nice of them, I bought a blackhawk for now and my wife can have the right hand holster that was in the kit. Won't be the last pistol I buy so she can wear it once we get off the wait list and signed up at the Abby range.

Bladetech holsters have a well deserved solid reputation. I like the Comp Tech paddle holster. I have one for my M&P Pro and it has served me well. My other holsters are Bladetech. Order direct from them if you can't find one you want, If you intend to use the holster then avoid Fobus and Uncle Mikes and the Serpa line.

Take Care

Bob
