M&P 9 mm any good

I had 2 of the first series M&P pro series pistols. They had 5 inch barrels and the front sights were fiber optic.
One in 9mm and One in 40s&w. I found them to be nice reliable pistols overall, though I shoot better with 1911's.
I sold them when I changed direction with my small collection.

I have a v1 m&p for about a year and a half.
I have installed the apex comp spring kit and a the reset assist and it shoots 9 and 10 rings at 10 yards consistanly.
I recently bought a new fnx 9 to replace and found my old m&p9 shoot way better than the fnx9.

Recently purchased a M&P 9 range kit on sale. Great value. I shot it with the stock trigger, very gritty. I was used to my gen1 Shadows excellent trigger. I got the full Apex flat faced trigger trigger kit #100-054 (not inexpensive). What a difference! I love this trigger! The only concern are the mags. I couldn't get 10 rounds in any of them. I had to cut off a portion of the followers "legs" which allowed room for the 10th round. This sites members and Youtube are your friends. Still have to use the Uplula though. M&P mags are notorious for strong springs. Tried to leave the mags loaded for a week and repeatedly loaded and unloaded them but it didn't help. I may cut a coil off of them to ease this problem. This is my first polymer pistol and I'm glad I got it.

Just did my advanced pistol course. The only two guns that didn't experience jams or problems, including after 800+rounds went through them were the two M&P 9's. Even the heavenly Glocks and mythical CZ's failed. I've put around d 10,000 rounds through mine without a single malfunction with all types of ammo.

That means nothing, stoppages happen for many reasons. All those handguns are very reliable, implying one is more reliable than another is foolish.

and yet had he said it was the Glocks that had no stoppages people would have chimed in saying "see the Glocks are better!"
guy was pointing out first hand experience from a recent course, its empirical knowledge he is passing along, don't fault the fella for being helpful.
how, had he said "I heard from a fella who read an internet article of a person someone thought they knew....." then you could jump down his through.

I hope they're decent, I just "pulled the trigger" on a used 1.0 with an Apex trigger installed. After shooting basically from a bench for a couple years, I did some drills (dot torture for one) and realized quickly that the Beretta 92 platform (mine's a Turkish Girsan) is not ideal with the difference between the DA trigger pull and the SA. This is my first striker pistol, so hopefully it works for me...

Edit: are there several different "Apex trigger" options out there?

Lmao yes - it was an unfair comparison for a Glock. 8 used guns. Owners get to choose their own ammo. Same round count, drills, distance, frequency, temperature, lighting, HVAC, distance, loading. Definitely an unequal comparison of 8 used guns lmao. You sound like a Black Lives Matter advocate arguing crime statistics.

Once again - I have a 2007 M&P (early) with an Apex sear and 56,000+ rounds through it. It shoots just fine, and has been rock solid reliable. They are sensitive to grip and trigger control - to some degree all pistols are.

Exactly. Simple as that. Out of your holster with a proper grip and you can’t lose. Sloppy draw, sloppy group.
