Hi,
I am wanting to upgrade from the original 3 dot sights on my M&P 9 and would like to get feedback from any of you who have done so, fiber optic or red dot or ?. Pros and cons appreciated.
Thanks,
Gary

Warren Tactical sights are the most common on M&Ps'. Tritium, Fiber Optic & Competion/Carry styles are avail.

I'm interested in better sights also. Maybe something with a bit more precision in mind. Tactical sights are fine if your doing IDPA, but all I do is punch paper.

Same here Brian, I'll see what the collective here comes up with for options. Stay tuned!

Sell it and buy the m&p pro with factory red dot, upgraded trigger etc. better bet in the long run

Put a Williams set on my M&P, Dawson on my Pro. It is nice to have an adjustable rear sight for precise zeroing. I like a fiber optic front sight.
Going to try a reflex sight this season.

And be careful when installing a replacement rear sight. There is a tiny plate and spring which are retained by the rear sight.

When you say red dot or reflex , do you mean red dot or reflex as in a RD scope or do you mean Red dot/ reflex , as a front bead? The pro is not set up for a RDS , don't you need the CORE for that?

There is an adapter base that replaces the rear sight. This is for trial purposes. If I like it, I'll go to a CORE with a DeltaPoint. Sets the sight lower.

I put a set of Hiviz on mine a few weeks ago. Paid around $70. Some fitting required but installation was easy. I centered them up with a caliper and they're dead on!

You'd choose the Deltapoint over Trijicon? I have no hands on experience with any but am trying to learn before making an expensive buy mistake.

What dot size would you go with and I don't know about how the Deltapoint triangle reticle would be better/preferable over a standard dot?

10-8 .156" rear and gold bead front or fiber optic front do the trick for me...
when you say that it works for you in a tactical sense or precision ? I have no problem hitting inside a 6 inch circle at 25 to 35 yards . I just focus on the white dot out front , the 2 rear dots just kinda fades out. I find that these factory sights have to much tolerances ( spaced to far apart when lined up). I would like to get more precise and not so much tactical. I know this is not the best gun for what I'm looking for but it's the only one I got in 9mm. The only sights I can find from google are either tactical or competition .

Dont focus on the dots.

I have a bit of a unique situation, having had 10 eye surgeries on my right eye since suffering a giant retinal tear in Dec of 2009. I have a degradation of acuity in the eye and as a result I need to see some light alongside the front sight and find that actually gives me better precision with more light visible. I'm actually thinking of going to a .115" front in order to get a little more light.

There's no reason why "fast" can't also mean "precision"...

A friend has a Delta with the small dot. I think it would suit me.

For irons, have a look at w ww.dawsonprecision.com
