Id really like to know too. I love my M&P, but this mag shortage is almost making me wish i had a Glock. Almost...
theres another sponsor with them in stock (10/10rnd)... i was there a few weeks ago and picked up some .40 mags.

Id seen that too, but the 10/10 round mags are terrible. If the slide isn't locked back lots of them wont click in place with 10 rounds in them. Also if the base plate brakes, your SOL. It doesn't seem like an unreasonable request, but they seem to be impossible to find. (In oem, not promag) Id be in for 5 if the pricing wasn't to crazy.
I was lucky enough to get 2 10/17 with my M&P. If someone could get some in i would pick up 5 or 6 for sure.

The mag fix is really easy to do. Only takes a few minutes, and full mags will load on a closed bolt.

and whats wrong with promag? do they make 10/10 full length ones?

I want to have 3 or 5 of these...
I received a 4th, 17rd unpinned mag when I got my M&P9 Range kit....new!! It was just sitting in loose in the case. I knew how evil I would become just having it in my possession, so it (the Mag) promptly went back to the store and they sent me a 10/10 replacement.

ditto I shave the followers AND cut a couple coils off the mag springs. Apparently Good ol Smith decided the same spring is okay for 17 and 10 rounders... I happen to notice a lot of unnecessary tension, myself.

The last round feeds into the mag much better. The last round in 10/10 is TIGHT!
And if you do squeeze 10 in loading the mag is also difficult. The top round will also rub on your slide a lot when you first rack it. And I mean inserting the mags was a ##### with 10 in for me, had to really force it.
I was the one who did it way back then. After trying to get one of the sponsors to get on board, with no luck, I decided to do it myself (completely legally). The mags have to be pinned before crossing the border, and the proper paper work takes the gov't 3 months to approve (ridiculous). Was a pain, not to mention being out the money for a large shipment (mags, pinning, import fees, duty and taxes) for that long since not many people are willing to pay for something 3 months before they get it.

Same spring and same follower... That's the problem, the bottom of the 10 is at 90* the one of the 15 (my experience is with the .40) is angled; the follower is also angled to fit flush on the full cap mag so it hangs up early on the 10... Very stupid move from S&W, I'm assuming to save money as the first gen were different and worked well. They don't seem to care enough to fix the problem neither...
