M&P 9mm Sights -help please

I have about 400 rounds down the pipe of my M&P 9 and I use the # 3 sight picture and 7 out of 10 hit where I am aiming ( at 20 yards) the other 3 I blame on me so I dont know but my dad shoots mine consistantly low and to the left..

I have an M&P Pro, and it shoots low for sure. Three people have fired it, and all shoot low. I don't really think much of M&P's - the trigger is gritty, and it shoots low. When i compare it to the quality of my H&K's and Sig, it seems like junk. I mean, to make the trigger decent, you have to get an Apex trigger, and to hit a target, you have to get new sights - totally unreasonable.

Um, yeah, OK - your HK and Sigs cost more than an M&P does even after fitting an Apex trigger and new sights (and ordering a Raven holster and mag pouch and four spare mags). Your HK has no real warranty and the parts to build one cost more as replacements than buying 2 complete pistols - if you can get them at all. Your magazine cost for the HK and Sigs is close to insane. The HK and the Sig (unless you've special ordered and/or changed the triggers) have totally different trigger systems, that require much more from the shooter than the M&P does, but the M&P is unreasonable? Maybe if you compare apples to apples I'd be with you. Just saying.

OP-Weaver stance - how old are you? That may be a part of the issue, there is a tendency with the Weaver to "flinch" with the weak hand, that is to anticipate the shot and tighten up with the weak hand. In any form of isosceles this causes left or right dispersion, with old Jack's contribution to pistol shooting it drops the rounds straight down.

I shot an M&P 9 today for first time after shooting glocks for about 2 months at the range, to me big difference with triggers, i keep hearing about the grittiness about the MP but honestly it behaved alot better than a glock.

Well enefgee, well said. You make some very good points. The M&P has potential. I think I'll order the Apex
trigger, and new sights and shut-up now.

Cheers
