M&P CORE optics options: Deltapoint or RMR?

Just ordered a S&W M&P Core 5" in 9mm.

Now I have to figure out which optic to mount. Does anyone have an opinion on best options?

I'm currently leaning towards the Leupold Deltapoint. Does anyone have an opinion for this application? Not sure if I should get the 3.5 MOA dot or 7 MOA triangle.

Does the rear sight block the adjustment lockdown screws? Has anyone figured out a solution to this?

The other option is the Trijicon RMR. I prefer the version with adjustable brightness, but haven't been able to find it in stock anywhere.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Note the DeltaPoint 2 and DeltaPoint Pro are due for release commercially shortly.

The PRO is a fully ruggedized sight - made for duty handguns or short carbines.

Big difference in price for the PRO?
 
i have the Deltapoint 7.5 on my PRO CORE and i love it.
ive had no problems accessing the lock down screws on the back, there is a good half inch there to get to them.
if memory serves i didnt use the wrench that came with it but my own, that may be why i didnt have any problems?
either way LOVE THIS DELTAPOINT!

i sat on the fence for months about getting one because of the price, but now that i have one i feel foolish for waiting so long.
really a fantastic optic.

and good warranty on them too.

here you can see the space between the sight and the rear irons, and here is the manual so you can see the set screws on the back.

Could you please elaborate on additional features that DeltaPoint 2 and DeltaPoint Pro have, and original DeltaPoint does not?

I'm pretty sure the Leupolds only have a two year warranty on the electronic components. If the vortex actually fit properly on the CORE I would go that route because of their amazing warranty. It would also appear that the deltapoint 2 will sit too high on the CORE to cowitness (maybe kevinb could comment). There are so many mixed reviews out there on the electronics on all these brands crapping out at some point I went with the dual illumination RMR until they perfect the electronic on these things or offer true lifetime warranties.

the warranty on mine says lifetime and not limited to anything other then my own stupidity.

i know a fella who has broken a couple in the last 2 years and they where replaced no questions asked, that was the deciding factor when i picked the Deltapoint over all the others, they where the only one that had a lifetime warranty.

The electronics in your Leupold® DeltaPoint™ Reflex sight are covered by the Leupold® Electronics Warranty, and are protected from defects in materials and workmanship for two years from the date of purchase. In event of a need for service or repair, please contact Leupold Product Service.
 
actually saw that about a minute after i posted my last.
not sure what to say, i know my friend has had no problems getting his replaced.
but he runs 1,000's of rounds per year down his so his take a lot of G force smacking.
the couple hundred rounds mine get a summer ill be lucky if i even ever need to swap out my battery haha!
 
I've got about 7,500 rds thru my CORE/DP combo.

Leupold is pretty good with their warranty even after the "period"

DP2 should be fine on the CORE models for alignment thru the sights -- the one Tim is using as an example has Leupold's dovetail mount - which sits way to high - but it works in a pinch for folks who do not have an optics ready gun.

DP2 - has better adjustments, and the ability to swap the battery without removing the sight from the host gun.
DP-Pro, all the 2 upgrades and armored exterior (and more robust electronics package) designed for exposed holster usage on a duty handgun, or for use on a carbine.
