M&P holster

Just go to Ebay and pick up a Fobus holster and mag holder, I even got free postage for my set and it does not break the bank price wise.

I want to pick up a nice holster and mag holder for it....any suggestions cgn'ers??

"nice" depends entirely on your intended application. What do you want to use it for?

Almost any standard 4.25" M&P 9/40 holster will fit it. The dust cover is slightly wider on the M&P22, but as long as the holster is adjustable or has a bit of play, it won't be a problem.

We've got blackhawk serpa at work for them (.40), it's a bit overkill for a fun gun but they do make a CCW without the level 2 stuff, might be a good option.

I plan on using it at the range...for when I am shooting as well as when I am moving around the range

Casual use, then? "Gun holder" for while you're plinking? If so, then spend as much or as little as you like. I used a Fobus holster very happily for my first season, they give a lot of value. But if you like nicer toys, then any of the suggestions above are worth considering.

Another option to consider for casual use is a "universal" adjustable nylon holster (like this one: w ww.tasmaniantactical.com/product_p/7867.htm). I have one that I like to keep around for the brief period while I might be test-driving a new or differently-shaped pistol, and it also accommodates my primary pistols with light attachments. I don't use lights enough to make it worth having a dedicated "proper" holster for them, but it's nice to have something for occasional use.

If you are going to get into gun games with it, then I'd say skip right to the mid-range stuff listed above. But then you'd need to decide which discipline you want to do, and the particular features will matter more (retention, coverage, belt attachment).

Bladetech are the standard mid-range holster around my neighbourhood. They're a good option in that they are very well-proven, and they have a bunch of different modular attachment options.
