I went out to the range today with my S&W M&P40, and after I fired about fifty rounds, the magazines started to drop out while firing. It varied, but the magazine would usually come unseated every two shots. It happened with all three of my mags regularly, and I'm positive it's not my grip releasing the mags. The mag catch looks okay, no visible damage and the spring seems to have good tension. Anyone have any ideas as to what is going on?

It should be warranty. If you take the slide off, you should be able to see the rev # molded into the frame. The last rev with an actual letter is N, newer rev's are dots.

Jesus, just reading you thread brought chills to my bones....

I had the exact same freakin' problem with my M&P in .40. Believe it or not, it got to the point where I'd cringe as I shot, expecting my mag to $hit at my feet. I had bought it at my gun club on a lark. They changed the mag release button spring in it two times before the problem went away. But it did go away. Do not lose hope, fellow firearm afficionado. There is a cure.

I've never had my MP9 drop a mag, but I've had it where it doesnt always lock into place when I first seat it..... doing the "movie style" slap in rectified that issue.

Ditto on that one. Plus, the extra noise of slapping in a mag will increase Zombie stopping power.

Err and of course the Hydra Shok rounds...

Also, gotta remember to frown like Steven Seagal when you do the slap, otherwise it doesn't work the same. Seriously though, check your Rev# as noted above, and give MD Charlton a call (they're just here in Saanichton) if you need a new mag release you'll be able to get it in a day or 2 even by Canada Post :)
