M&P modifications?

With all the talk about M&P these days I was wondering if anyone did any mods to it.

I had mine for some time now and been thinking about cutting the beavertail off (I have no use for a beavertail, (it makes no diff. with my grip) and maybe polishing parts of the slide for a "sig equinox" look :cool:

Anyone done that? or know a place that does that in Canada?


I could probably do it myself, but don't want to mess it up:redface:
 
If your after some idea's try M&P-forums.com .
They have all kinds of modifications , some are very cool .
To bad any of them will kick it out of production division .
 
What do you think the value of your gun would be when you come to sell it without the Beavertail? Just curious

Don't know, but there places in US that do that for money, so some peole (like myself) prefer the looks with out the beavertail and willing to pay to get it done!...but if I did that I'd likely keep it. btw I think I'll keep it anyways... :cool:

I think cutting the beavertail off would be just fine if it was done professionally. It might take a resale price hit if you sell it online if your pictures don't show the quality of the workmanship. But did you buy it for its resale value or did you buy it for yourself?

There is at least one CGN that removed the finish on the slide. If you do a search you should find it. Ever since seeing it I have been thinking of doing that to mine. And do the slide stop. The equinox look doesn't do it for me.

I'm sure whoever does that grip refinishing in the above photo could do it for you to. Might be some paper work to do to get it shipped to the USA. Or you could just have the back replacement grip done without any hassle.

Taking off the beaver tail would take it out of IPSC Production class. And you would have to use an unmodified grip but could use grip tape. Rules are rules!

Now would taking the finish off the slide be against production class rules? Or did it just wear off? Hmmm...

How about making a jig for the frame to sit in so you can professionally remove that beaver tail?
