Looking on on the S&W web site and trying to figure out a few things ....
First I noticed there are different trigger pulls, there are some M&P's with 6.5 Lbs, and others With 10.0 Lbs pulls .
I would like to know what the Range kit comes with .
Also I would like to know . If the range kit guns have the Mag disconnect safty, And / or, the stupid key hole lock, Both of witch I don't want ...
Im likely going to get the Apex FFS trigger replacement , And wondering if its only for certain models of M&P's,

Ten pound triggers are special order jobs, there's also an 8lb trigger for Massachusetts, the standard trigger is listed as 6 1/2, but generally runs from 5-6 1/2. The range kit has the standard trigger. The range kits I've seen do not have the mag safety or key lock. Give the stock trigger a decent run before changing it out - it settles in to a very useable trigger.

Quoted for truth.

I ordered a M&P40 and an Apex trigger at the same time. When they arrived I was surprised at how good the stock trigger was. Much better than a Glock.

I installed the Apex and am glad I did. It is now a very good trigger. Not a 1911, but a very useful, good trigger.

The three guys that have gotten range kit M&P's lately in my shooting group all had mag disconnects. Another guy with an older M&P also has the MD. I'm pretty sure that the MD is a regular M&P feature. Or at least it has been for quite a while.

There must be different versions around. I bought my range kit from prarie gun this fall and it definitely fires with no mag, says so on the frame and I just confirmed it in real life. Might need to ask the retailer to check the actual pistol.

Bought mine a month ago it has no mag disconect it fires with no mag in it. The m&p 22 I just got has it.

The importer brings in the ones without the mag disconnect now. It is my understanding the model without the mag disconnect is the more popuiar version for civilian usage. Removing the mag disconnect is easy to do and there are vids on youtube explaining how to do it. IDPA has allowed the removal for some time for those who shoot IDPA.

Take Care
