M&P replacement front sight too loose

Had the same problem with a Williams Fire sight. I was told by a gunsmith to gentle tap the top of the dovetail on the sight to make it a bit wider . I did that and it fits nice and tight .I didn't use any Loctite and haven't had any issues after 1100 rounds later.

Hum not impressed and a bit worried here. I have an M&P 9 Pro in the mail, should be getting it soon. But it looks like I have to go buy LocTite now? I thought this was an XCR issue, not S&W...

We have four guys shooting M&P PROs at our club and none have had front sight issues. Before you get all wound up you might want to wait until you get your gun. I doubt there will be any front sight problems.

Take Care

Seems to really only be an issue with some aftermarket sights. I highly doubt you will have any problems with your new handgun.

Happens with both aftermarket and factory. My M&P has factory sights, and they have drifted left since day 1.

I might try to deform the sight dovetail a bit to 'encourage' it to stay put. That seems like a good idea.

I was putting a set of ameriglos in my M&P yesterday and I think I bent the front sight slightly installing. The nylon drift punch I was using chipped on the sight base and rode up onto the sight post. Suck.
