I've been considering polishing the sears on both my M&P 9 and 40. I've consider the Apex kit, I just don't want to drop $$ on them at this point.

Has anyone else done the polishing? what else have you done that did not involve expensive parts? How was the improvement?

Currently hate the drag, but worst is the grittiness of the trigger.

Any help would be great!!!

I've known Dan Burwell for about 8 years and his trigger work is flawless. But he stones the factory sear and it does and will fail. Do yourself a favour and replace the sear with a tool steel unit.

RePete So you have one fail after stoneing it ? OR is it just you have heard that from ? Or is it because a person has stoned through the hard surfacing and then into softer material and it wears ? Thks for the Help ! ;)

Cheers RJ

I know a number of shooters in the NE US that have had to replace their sears quite a few rounds after Dan had stoned them. I run Glocks not M&P's.

The stoning will reduce the minimal thickness of the hardening.

There have also been posts on Enos forum too.

ive done half the burwell job on m m&p45 (the sear and trigger component polishing) and it definitely made a difference, pull is better, but the biggest difference is that I can feel the reset so much better. Before Icouldn't always tell where the reset was.
