m&p vs px4 berreta

I'd go PX4 for the rotating barrel... it's got big cool factor.
I'm hoping that Beretta does a "C" Version for Canada in .40S&W

I'd go PX-4, for sure.

As a matter of fact, I know of one that's for sale right now in the EE. Brand new, never fired.

I won't hot link it, but it's on page 2 about half way down.

:)

I've handled one of the PX-4s that CBSA bought; I'm glad that I am not issued one! Besides the truly ugly factor, which I realize may be a "taste" issue, it just felt... Cheap!

I have only fired one M&P, in .40, and it was accurate and flawless in operation.

I am considering an M&P in .45, if and when I am ever in a financial position to purchase another pistol. This would be to replace my Sig P220, BTW...

I have owned both the M&P and the PX4. The M&P is a better pistol, especially considering the price. The PX4 will run you $1000 plus tax and shipping. The M&P is $650 ++. There are very few used PX4s available due to the barrel size issue. However, there are a lot of used M&Ps which you can get for $525 - $550 with no tax. So pretty much half price. So I would definately advise you to get the M&P.
If you have a $1000 for a PX4 put it towards an H&K, far better than either of the others.

Has CBSA had issues with their Berettas? Go with a Glock, the M&P is just a reversed engineered Glock. The Glock has a 20+ year history of reliabilty The M&P, the jury is still out.

after looking at the price factor, it would seem the m/p is a winner. the other gun i was looking at was the colt xse combat commander, which is quite a bit more $$$$. would the colt outshoot the m/p badly, do you think?

Does the PX4 have a magazine disconnector and internal locking device?

Does the M&P in question have a magazine disconnector and internal locking device?

get the px4, , it still has alot of potential .. if you can . get the dao model though. the m&p ,,is a great gun , but the glock is still better than it, imho. if you are willing to fork out the dough for a px4 though . id look at the hk p30l.

I've shot both quite a bit and I give the advantage to the M&P. For what its worth I enjoy the trigger on the smith more and have always shot better with it.

Could buy a decent amount of ammo for the price difference between the two - means more trigger time?

In the end best bet is get out and try both - asking here is akin to asking which car should I buy as opposed to getting out and test driving them.

Good luck!
