So after much humming and hawing I decided to go ahead and get another M&P and a Detapoint milled onto it. Picked it up earlier today. I am very pleased with it.
Its really cool from playing with it. It will be interesting to see how it compares to my other M&P as far as target acquisition and keeping the dot in sight. I decided not to get a back up iron sight in the form of suppressor sights. Its not a fighting gun simply for plinking so I didn't feel the added expense and trouble finding such parts was worth it. If I like it enough I can always get some more milling done. I may get some front cocking surrations later and the slide refinished so at that time I will reassess a BUIS. At this point its more of an experiment than anything so it wasn't worth too many mods till i feel its suitable and works for me.
Both my guns have Apex Sears and USBs. These are great upgrades and in my opinion make the M&P a way better gun than stock. The stock trigger is the biggest downfall of the gun.
I will post an update once I take it out to the range and see how it works.

Here are some photos with my other M&P

Im positive if you had got the sights you would like them.

You make me wana go mill my M&P for a dot now.

I only have glocks with dot's

I just thought I would post a quick update. I took this gun out last week. I was amazed by it. It makes it hard to miss. You can also really see when your technique starts to slip. It did take some getting used to. I almost had to keep thinking "dot" instead of front sight post.
I will take it out this week and shoot some video of it.
All in all I great investment. Worth every penny if you get the chance to do this.

If your g-smith charged you for milling you got screwed.

The delta points come with mounting hardware that replaces the rear sight.

It took me 5 min to instal mine........

Did you ever think that he might have wanted it milled into the slide so it sits lower on the slide? I don't screw anyone and I believe my reputation speaks for itself.

you got screwed.

This is what I wanted and asked for. Casey did a great job, he is amazing at what he does.
I simply posted it here so people who are thinking for doing this can see how it came out. I am super happy about both the work that was done and how it shoots. I hummed and hawed about this for ages and most of the photos and info were from the states. I figured a thread here couldn't hurt. I had the dovetail mounts and didn't like how high it rides. This allows me to interchange the two guns and keep my head at roughly the same position.
Maybe take a look at other forums. This is an accepted way of installing a red dot and increasing in popularity. But then again notsorichguy you would know best.

Yeah, the add-on mount looks pretty much like what it is - a plate that adds to the overall height and width of the sight unit. Think of it as being like sticking a Bomar on top of a 1911 slide, versus having it properly machined in. You can do it, and it will work, but it'll pretty much look like dog droppings. Take a look at the factory adjustable sight on a Hi Power, that's exactly what I mean. Nice work like this is easily worth the cost.

you need to be thinking "target" not "dot" to get most speed out of the sight. that's the advantage to a dot sight, it lets you have a target focus the whole time. I got to a good way to practice is to just place black tape on the sight where the dot is, that way you still see the dot when looking at the target but dont see the target when looking at the dot

It won't be long before we start seeing some of the C.O.R.E. models up here. You get co-witness with the optic. With improvement in optics this will be the future.
