M pro 7 gun oil reviews? Recommended gun oil for rust resistance?

Just asking cuz of taking my rifles out in the freezing cold and then coming inside they start to sweat a bit and don’t want any rust on my nice thunder sticks. I have a dehumidified safe for storage. There’s also the Lucas gun oil I seen posted on cgn awhile back. That might be good too eh

a film of oil on the metal will go a long way. but still give them a wipe down with an oiled cloth after bringing them in from the cold.

There are other products which do a great job without the stink. Try some Fluid Film.

I use that on my car....works well. Not a great gun lube, but for just rust would be fine. Honey Goo is nice too.
One could also coat the gun in grease...same effect.
With Froglube (used properly) you get rust protection and good lube so you can grab it and go without having to degrease. It smells like Christmas too.

Has anyone ever tried Outers Metal Seal? I've had a can that has lasted for 15 years and it puts the perfect coating on metal for storage. It's like an oil but feels a bit waxy after time, and cleans up easily with a wipe. Has a pleasant smell too.

For really long term storage where I'm not going to using the gun at all for a long time, I slip them into one of those silicone gun socks. Seem to work pretty well.

I've used G96 Gun Treatment and Mpro7 gun oil exclusively as a lubricant for the past several years. I like the thin consistent film I get with the Mpro, and the G96 does a great job of cleaning and lubricating stuff like O/U shotgun actions that aren't easy to get apart.
When my guns come in from the cold in winter they're stood behind a warm wood stove until the metal is dry and slightly warm to the touch, then wiped down with an oily cloth and put away.
Any warm room will do the same thing though it takes longer. I'd guess the temperature behind the stove is in the low 100° F range.
My dies get a wipe with G96 before they're put away also. I suspect the stuff is toxic as hello, anything petroleum based that smells good is that way for a reason..lol.

Try LPS 1 or any of the LPS products. They’re technically superior to any other products on the market (they were designed for and are approved by Boeing and the aerospace industry). LPS 1 is a ‘dry’ film and is now used by the US military as a standard firearm protectant/lubricant (was used for years, then marketed to the public as LPS-1). LPS-3 is the long-term storage product, but like Fluid Film it’s waxy and stinks (but you won’t get any rust). WD40 and similar products disperse after a short time, so not great for storage, and penetrants aren’t designed to last. Older products gum up as well.

Eezox, more of a treatment than an oil, but it is great for corossion resistance.
Fluid film is also amazing but is a wet surface to work as are most oils where as Eezox goes on wet and then dries.
