M1 .30 carbine stock question

Just bought a carbine stock with hand guard at the Calgary show. It appears to be a factory new stock from Armorers parts stock (fits like a glove and has the M2 happy switch cut out on the left side) but I am puzzled by two things, It has a black Bakelite or plastic butt pad and a Phillips headed screw to hold the rear mounting hook in place. Where there factory parts stocks built in this configuration or is it just a knock-off.

There were two others there with steel butt pads, one didn't have the hand guard with it so I passed on it. The other was with hand guard and steel pad but was $175 (I paid $50 for the one I got).

Military stocks have a metal buttplate which is fastened to the stock by a single slot head screw. The military buttplates do not fit flush. They have a slightly cupped edge which fits around the butt which is slightly relieved for the cupped edge.

nothing that I can see. I think John is correct. I dug out my War Baby copy and all things point to after-market except for the hand guard that came with the stock, it is definitely a two rivet "issue" from what I can gather. The butt plate on mine is plastic with two screws instead of the single one used during war production. The recoil plate that came with the stock doesn't appear wartime "correct" to any of the pictures I can find
While it would be nice to have the gun ( an early Underwood, #1376###, Feb, 42 barrel, everything is original to the gun except the type 2 bayo mount) in an original, it will serve the purpose for shooting the thing.
