CGN Ultra frequent flyer
Was at the Bull Meadows Range, this Sunday for a 500 and 600 and two 800
meter matches. This with a VAR barrelled M1 30-06, reconditioned in 1992, via the Danish Army.
Yes, I was way, way, out of my league, against Swing rifles, RPA Internationals and Angel M44s.
But this is all I had to got with.
Did okay at 500, a worse score at 600, and the first 800 shoot I sucked.
Competed again in the second 800 match and got a 31 and one "V" out of a possible 50. So that is not too bad for an M1 Garand, I think.
I love this rifle, but I am going to search for a dedicated High Power single shot 308, with good high grade sights...so I will place better next time I believe.
PS: Fat Tony was there too, and he with the loaned out M14S Polytech shooter beat me by a few points!?!?
An interesting experiment at least......
Cheers
