M1 Carbine Barrel

there was small production run of M1 Carbine barrels down in states and number of those are srill on the market. But. Can't get them across the border. I myself still munching an idea of machining one for myself. M1 carbine barrrrel isn't a straight pipe, there is some milling involved. Your options are to order custom barrel from trusted smith ( $$$ and months of waiting) or sleeve existing barrel with longer insert, original rstricted barrel only needs half inch or so . Don't even think you can get export permit for any M1 Carbine part., for some reason M1 carbine is banned from export down in states.

I've been told that putting a sleeve on the existing barrel is no longer recognized by the CFC as a option for making it into a non-restricted, so really your only options are to find a nr barrel already in the country or have someone make one.

"...production run of M1 Carbine barrels..." Around 1978 or '79 by Iver Johnson. Not many and not many around.
Auto-Ordnance carbine$ would be restricted if they ever come up here. Not likely to either. Not enough market.
"...M1 carbine is banned from export..." Parts require the U.S. export permit. All barrels for any firearm requires it too.
"...Norinco make an M1 garand replica?..." No.
