M1 Carbine magazines, good ones? Bad ones?

I got a couple KCI m1 carbine magazines, and despite KCI's somewhat poor reputation, I find them pretty great(used in a plainfield m1 carbine).
Are the AO Magazines good?
Promag?
ect?

I have had no issues with KCI mags in a GI carbine, but they didn't work so well in an Auto ordnance carbine. The auto ordnance mag worked in both.

I don't even know what's USGI, seems like their are many knock offs. I do avoid the 5 & 10rd ones though, and try to avoid the 'last shot hold open' magazine followers.

Look at the stamping. I got 10 15/5 USGI.

i bought 4 5/15 from corwin they are nice but not much nice in my m1 , they have a lot of play in the magwell causing some jam or fail to feed

Thanks for the info Robert, where are you finding the surplus mags? Gun shows and the EE are the only places I could think of.

I got the last 5 out of randomness. Someone randomly messaged me when I posted that this store was selling pinned 10/22 mags, somehow talks got into M1 carbine, and said he had some mags he had no use for anymore. I got them for about 10$ a piece.

searching myself for new mags..... the corwin arms one jam like every time on my auto ordinance.... unless i put my hand on the bottom and force them up while firing. they just sit to low.


anyone try promag ones?

I bought 4 of the 5/15 mags from Corwin. 3 out of 4 would jam every third round or so. The other was flawless. I noticed that the rounds sat higher on the right side when feeding from the good mag so I just altered the right feed lip on the other 3 to match. Now there are all working fine.
