Hi every one,

I'm trying to locate a Non restricted length M1 Carbine barrel in .30 Cal (I believe its 18.5" or longer). But with the few emails I have sent to site sponsors and north syliva I cant seem to get any headway. But it seems crazy to me that these rifles are on the market from a few different manufactures like Auto Ordinance but no one can get a spare barrel.

Has any one else run in to this problem before?

Thanks in advance

Criterion barrels (a good maker) offers an 18.75" M1 Carbine barrel. They even call it "Canada legal". I don't know of a retail source here, but they can be imported by going thru the established export/import procedures (licenses etc.).

That'd be ORDNANCE. And AO doesn't export parts as I recall. In any case, M1 Carbine parts require the U.S. Dept. of State export permit. For who knows why, Carbines are on the restricted for export list. Likely because some U.S. States call 'em assault rifles.
Criterion barrels are currently unavailable according to their site. Supposedly ready sometime in the first quarter of this year. No mention of a Canadian distributor either, but I think Mystic had 'em.
You'll need a smithy who has the installation tools, including the finishing reamer. The Criterion barrels are short chambered.

I just tried to order some parts from Numrich and they had to cancel the order after they applied for the permit to ship across the border. They where told that due to the fact that any of the carbine parts are interchangable with the m2 carbine they couldn't ship them. Not even screws or wood.
I did hear their will be a shipment of NR barrels coming in ontario close to spring. I guess due to the the fact that they are new and not original parts.
