Oh thats not a problem, everything is tip top.
Did not, i saw some issues such as the stock and barrel extension.

Well, it is registered - so no intent on anyone's part. It's a Bavarian Police carbine, the rear sight bed isn't milled off, it's been very expertly filled with a dovetail blank, get a magnifying glass and take a very close look and you'll see that there's an amazingly fine line, whoever did these fill ins was a true genius. I'd throw an NR barrel on it and/or send it to Nick at Vulcan, it'll come back like new.
Too late. The OP stated the police are involved and coming to inspect, which really means to collect.
You are correct, there is a barely visible line. It is amazing workmanship.
I would like to have the reciever repaired and refinished, however there is no point until there is a resolution to this situation.
This morning the city police came, had a look, took my story and made some phone calls. Its still with me. The officer said he will get back to me when he hears back from someone who deals with firearms.
I still have the rifle. My intention is to restore the rifle to military condition, however that project has fallen to the back burner. I completely dissembled the rifle down to the bare receiver. I have a non restricted barrel waiting for it too. Based on my research since every part on the rifle was stamped "sg" this rifle should have had serial number between 3310000 - 3430000.
The city police forwarded my "complaint" to NWEST. I spoke with an officer several times. They determined the serial number was likely scrubbed prior to C63, probably much earlier even. The officer suggested I contact the CFC and register the rifle with no serial number. The rifle is currently registered by the FIN (firearms identification number) as a receiver only. The CFC sent me stickers with the FIN number, which I stuck on the receiver, I could have engraved the fin number as an alternative. The officer also informed the CFC that the rifles oringnal serial was destroyed. The NWEST officer also wrote me a letter, which I'm to keep with the rifle, basically to the effect that I've done my due diligence and the won't be charged with possession of a firearm with a removed serial number.

Maybe get some number stamps from princess auto or wherever and stamp the CFC-provided serial number somewhere on the receiver.
Right on. Glad you got that mess cleaned up. Now don't take "forever" to put her back together,eh.
It will go back together, just other things keep jumping the line. I would like to send everything to Nick at Vulcan and give it the proper treatment, but I have yet to contact him or set aside the finances.
