M1 Carbine status

It's covered under the RCMP's "Carbine's are Good, Assualt Style rifles are Bad" clause.... :)

Who knows what the Liberals will pull out of Wendy's butt when the heat get's turned up another notch.

Back in 1978 the Libs re-classified the M1 Carbine as restricted because it was the weapon of choice for Montreal gangstas and bank robbers. They've since shifted to bigger and better things, and it had nothing to do with the Carbine being re-classified as restricted.:rey2

Not to mention the biker gang types in Vancouver as well back then. The regs at that time stated a minimum barrel length of 18.5" on auto rifles, hence moving folks toward options like fitting 19" tubes to be safely compliant, or welding the gas piston assembly to make the rifle a manually operated unit to keep the original 18" barrel.

I went the welded route with my ones and used 5 round mags for ergonomics in the woods.
