I have recently seen a different M1 Carbine.
the rear sight is a little strange. it's not a peep sight, but a pistol-type of rear sight, which is also adjustable. the sight is sitting on just above the chamber, rather than the usual location at the end of the receiver. however, there is a raising post at the end of the receiver, where the usual peep sight goes, but since there is not groove on the post, no sight can be installed. the surface of the post is flat.
Barrel has the following marking:
General Motors
12-43
Receiver has the following marking:
Inland Div
matching #'s on the receiver, stock, charging handle and bolt.
Any idea what's the story with this?
