so what shooting games can an M1 Carbine be used in my son is interested maybe shooting but he wants to used my M1 or other WW2 rifles whats out there for him its just for fun

You're in Ontario. It might be area specific as to size and classification of main battle rifles allowed in shoots. Since the carbine shoots a .30 cal round but isn't quite a main battle rifle, you'll have to check with organizers in your area. Tactical Teacher or Barney here should be able to help you.

We just had a Milsurp Battle Rifle shoot at our club and I used a borrowed M-1 and it was allowed. Didn't do so well though! Came in mid-pack with it.

He can shoot our Sporting Rifle shoot with it. 100, 200 and 300 yards. Deliberate, Snap and Mover at each distance.

Needs at least 130 rounds. Can use a M1Carbine at 100, and something else at 200 and 300, if he likes.

Next shoot is at Winona (Hamilton/Grimsby) on 17 Sept.

PM me for details.

My very first CQB match was shot with a non-res M1 Carbine. It was a lot of fun and a big learning experience. I belong to the ORA, and although I don't get out to matches all the time, you couldn't ask for a nicer bunch of people to be beside you on the line and run the matches. That first match of mine, I had no pistol at the time, and another competitor was kind enough to lend me his para 1911. Really great crowd.
CGN member Maritimer might be worth a contact to help you get involved in joining the ORA. You will hear this from some of us "that the M1 isn't as fast on he controls/reloads, so don't expect to come out crushing matches." As long as you are safe, you will have fun.
First you'll crawl, then walk, then after you'll run.
Feel free to send me a PM and I can also assist to get ya started or put you in touch with the right people.
Hope this helps

I knew a former Dutch marine who shot local service rifle with an M1 carbine. I"m pretty sure we did 50-60 rd COF out to 300m. He didn't win, but he did place 3rd once or twice. Given the varied weather conditions, I thought this was remarkable. I teased him about knowing how to "lob" those rounds in there :)

Come on out to ORA CQB at Borden if you're within driving range. It's a blast and as long as it's safe, use whatever you want. :) Guests can attend one event per year. We've got a match coming up on Sat. PM me if you'd like details. Observers welcome.
