M1 Carbiners' speak up

I have three of them and hardly shoot them but wouldn't be without one in my collection. The M1 Carbine has smooth lines and is just a handy little gun. I love watching TV shows and war movies where there are lots of carbines. The first one I remember seeing one was on the show Combet. I picked up on the two guns the Lt used one fired blanks and the other one was a prop. One had the bayonet lug and the other one didn't have it. I don't know if it was the same on all the episodes.
I picked up an action with a barrel on it a week or two ago in a bunch of parts. It is a National Postal Meter receiver drilled and tapped for a side scope mount. The barrel is clean but the gas system is cut off and welded to make it a repeater only. There is a dovetail cut over the chamber probably a European Police version. There is a stock but has had some wood removed on the inside, and the top wood sanded down. I figure I have about $75 in it and the only thing I took off it is the butt plate. If someone wants it for what I have in it plus shipping they are welcome.
Barrel and action, with altered slide, and stock with Bubba top wood. No bolt, or trigger assembly.
It will be up later this week.

I found a few pictures of the three I have in my collection. The bottom one has a 19" barrel and a metal top hand guard. The barrel has too much metal and the
top wood would have to be altered to fit.

Penetration is not an issue. I have shot through car doors among many other things and the 30 carbine performs fine. You just have to realize that it isn't going to do things that the 30/06 can do.

Well I hope the Shootist doesn't get an RSMP or NWEST visit now. You should not post illegal dealer activity on open forums

disassembly of prohibited devices has been proven in court to NOT be acceptable legally.

My Uncle shot(killed and et:p) a moose with his, before the "feds" tricked him into giving it away.:(

Here's my Plainfield commercial, a really fun gun that I would not hesitate to grab for more serious work. Mine's not legal in the woods here in Canada though...

M1A1 Airborne Carbine

Only Inland produced original M1A1 Carbines for Airborne Troops in WW2.
They had a contract in late '43 and another mid-to later '44.

This is an all matching Inland with a high end reproduction M1A1 stock set. An original stock is out of my price range! Several companies produce reproduction M1A1 stocks but this is the most accurate to the original, in fact there are instances where this model has been "aged" by bottom feeders!
Cheers Paul

6167 breaks my heart once again. When will this stop........?:(

Nice combination and stock 6167.
Where do you get the Excellent pieces?
I have a stock like that but haven't determined the manufacturer.
Where are the manufacturer markings on the stocks? Or are they omitted on repros like that?
I will have to check the date on my Inland carbine.

It is my understanding they are made in the US.
Very hard to get....when they come up you just have to grab them.

My buddy actually wouldn't leave a table at the Shot Show untill they would let him buy the stock!

Have to get a sling and oiler for it. Cheers Paul

Yeah, everything 6167 has is a gem. I don't know how the man manages to get his hand on so many nice quality milsurp.
