Our laws are dumb. Just make all semi-auto rifles 10 rds like handguns. :-(

So far, I only fired 10rds with my Russian SKS, but it's going to be very annoying when I get a groove after 5 rds. Not to mention, the pinning job sucked. I bought one of those SKS's that had the pin at the bottom of the mag. Butchered the serial #. And yes, my SKS is and always will be pinned at 5rds.

Tavor non-restricted, yet AR-15 is restricted and the AK 47 is prohibited.

Nothing makes sense. Criminal will take AR-15 out without ATT. LOL!

Not really sure how many lives saved with all these laws. Some are useful, but most are retarded.
 
it's all about PUBLIC PERCEPTION, not logic- the fact that it takes lke 2 SECONDS to change a mag means nothing- b/c of the montreal massacre, kim campbell had to do SOMETHING- she got the 5 round restriction from hunting regs and the 10 round was pulled out of a hat somewhere- then the liberals got back into power and of course the restrictions weren't good enough- the montreal wound was still fresh in the publics mind,and the liberals had a MAJORITY government, which gave them a free hand to do whahtever- so they picked up a copy of guns anual and a copy of what california had in place and basically duplicated that- and threw in a few twists of their own- that's how we got to where we are

Someone can easily un-pin 5rd pin on SKS and make it 10. Heck, how hard would it be for us to mod or get our hands on 30 round mags to boot! Oh well.. criminals will be criminals, the rest of us are stuck with these dumb laws. :-(

Garand, Tavor and AR15 all on my hit list, after I buy S&W 629 6" or 6 1/2". Hehe

Sure hope Tavor will stay non-restricted for a while. Going plinking with that in the bush would be joy! Can't understand why RCMP did not make it restricted out right. If you ask me, It looks even more evil than AR 15. So, if it looks evil, it should be restricted or prohibited. Then again, a SKS can be modded to look evil too. oh well... my head is spinning now.
 
Howcome so many people who have taken their CFSC do not know even the most basic rules regarding mag limits etc in Canada? Sure the laws are retarded, but these questions are all covered.

My instructor went off topic plenty times during the CFSC course. Very good learning experience. Unfortunately, I don't remember everything he said nor I bothered taking notes (was too concentrated on the main points). Sure wish I wrote down everything he said.

i'm changing my stance on stupid questions , based on some of the other threads that i've answered lately- i'll give answers where i can, to the best of my ability- these newbies are being shoveled so much crap from various "sources" that they'd need a front end loader to seperate fact from fiction
 
t-star: LOL! I too try to answer best of my ability. And if I'm not sure, I won't say anything, or high light that I'm NOT entirely sure... I'm still a noob. I have to sort out all the noise too. But this thread is not bad compared to others. I learnt from you that Tavor can accept LAR15 mags, hence I said "as far as I know, Tavor is 5 rds". Rock on!

OP could have done simple google search to get an answer... or just done a search here... oh well... at least I learned something in this thread. I hope I won't suffer even more memory loss when i start reloading and possibly casting my own bullets.
