M1 Garand Barrel in 6.5 x 55 Swedish!?!


Any idea on the gas issues this conversion might have?

Criterion makes a Garand barrel in 6.5x55. Their website offers the following info; Gas port is sized for proper function, use adjustable gas plug for slow burning powders, enlarging gas port may result in bent op rods.

Personally, I'd go with the Criterion barrel as is and try handloads with IMR 4064, a Garand compatible powder, which I've found to work well in the 6.5x55.
