Im thinking about swapping the barrel of my garand and I was wondering where should a go to get the job properly done and how much should I expect to pay for it. The barrel is original and I know some collector like that. So I would like to keep the original barrel just in case I end up selling it and someone want the orignal one. Let me know what you think.

What make of replacement barrel of you have? Is it new? New barrels sometimes require the shoulder to be turned down a bit on a lathe to get proper indexing. Rebarelling isn't hard as long as one has the proper tools and gauges. New barrels also require finish reaming to set up headspace. Nick at Vulcan Refinishing does this commercially.

I dont have anything on hand. I am looking for a shop that could order one and fit it.

Leave it alone
If it is a good one, purchase a shooter instead

I dont know yet. I recently acquire it, and havent got the chance to shoot it yet. I cant get to my range during winter. But the brass is sitting on the crown and theres frosting inside the barrel. So im looking at my option. I honestly rather not #### with it but if it keyhole I will have to change it.

Barrel and its installation could be $500-$600, depending.
Cost of barrel, and then indexing, finish reaming, parkerize if necessary, test fire.

TradeEx indicates that they are sold out of the Criterion barrels, but that is representative of the sort of replacement barrel you might consider.
Clean the barrel thoroughly, and test the rifle before deciding if a new barrel is needed. Remember that there are all sort of other factors that affect how well a M-1 shoots They are fairly complicated rifles, and for one to shoot really well, things need to come together.

only 2 new barrel makers I would consider for a M1 Garand

Criterion Barrels or a BF&M

there is also NOS barrels ..... if you can find one several different companies made very good barrels

there is also barrels by Citadel mfg but would not be my first choice

And would you happen to know a decent gunsmith up to the job of swapping it?

As noted by the others, make sure you legitimately need to have the barrel swapped out before you do anything. That said, I had Jason at Gun Co. in Ottawa do a barrel swap for $50. Dropped it off on Friday and grabbed it on Saturday. I’ve got nothing but good things to say about his work.
