m1 garand by Norinco

WOuld you like to see a Norinco M1 Garand be made?

It's possible to build a Garand M1 for $1000, but I'm not sure if I'm ready to take this project... $100 receiver, $900 in parts = post war Italian 308 garand that takes mags or we can build it into one that takes clips
 
I'd love to shoot a real Garand, but I don't know anyone with one, nor do I have the cash to get one. And I cringe at spending a grand or more on a rifle I've never shot, can probably never try out, and I have to buy it to try it. But if they marketed a Norc one for 3-4 hundred, I am pretty sure I'd come up with the money. My M213 shoots better than I can now. I'd surely try one of their rifles. Norinco = no frills, cheap thrills. Count me in. IN .30-06 OF COURSE
 
I would totally buy a $400 Norc Garand in 30-06. I take A LOT of new shooters to the range to get them in to the sport. I wish I could bring my SA Garand more because I love to share the history with them. But I keep it locked in the safe because I just can't relax when a noob handles my Garand since the condition and serial number make it too valuable. Conversely, I let them shoot the heck out of my Norc 1911, cause there are dozens like it for sale at $400 (new) if I want another one.
 
I think a lot of people would be up for a Norinco-made M1. That is, if they build it all to the original specs.

What's the point of owning one if you can't swap out parts?
 
Tool up to manufacture an M-1 from scratch and have it retail for a few hundred dollars? When the US market is closed?
Remember, the Chinese put the M-14 into production for military purposes, the commercial production tagged along afterwards.

You make a good point. But the question was if I would like to see them come in? I would like to see cheap Norc Garands come in to Canada. I would also like to see Megan Fox sitting on the the edge of my bed. I'm not saying either one is gonna happen. But I'd like to see it.

How about a "no" option that isn't so......silly?

My answer would be no, but it has nothing to do with it being "too much gun for me"

Honestly, that's just plain insulting...........
 
i'm gonna say no, b/c in my books , when the m14 came along, the garand went to second tier-there's not that much diff twixt 308 and '06 and i don't care for those enbloc clips flying all over the place- i can always carry a couple of spare mags for the m14( typical load out was at least 5) and if you run out of enblocs you're screwed- besides , unless it's a c or d, there's no provision for scope , which with my old eyes is beginning to get serious
