I don't know how to vote. I'm torn betwen a real garand or a knock off. I would spend some good money on historical firearm, yet cheap out on a fun plinker. (not that 30.06 is cheap)

Let's not insult John C. Garand with more cheapo knock offs from commie republic. If you want a M1, save up and buy a real Garand. There is simply no other substitute for it in this world.

A real Garand shouldnt be as expensive is at is now anyways... the prices are getting a little ridiculous..

i'm gonna say no, b/c in my books , when the m14 came along, the garand went to second tier-there's not that much diff twixt 308 and '06 and i don't care for those enbloc clips flying all over the place- i can always carry a couple of spare mags for the m14( typical load out was at least 5) and if you run out of enblocs you're screwed- besides , unless it's a c or d, there's no provision for scope , which with my old eyes is beginning to get serious

Question is not 'Would you buy and shoot' it is 'would you like to see'.

If someone brings it in, I have my credit card waiting.... OMG can you imagin one in surplus ammo hehe :D:D

I love the CLING at the end of shoot hehe, Long live the most famous "cling" in the world!!

From my recent experience of selling a Garand with a black synthetic stock, I think that most Garand owners are looking for a somewhat collectable (perhaps not the best word, but along the right track) firearm. Many people were not interested in it one bit since it was not in a beautiful walnut stock. All I heard was how much it would cost to replace that worthless synthetic with a 'proper' wooden stock. If this is an accurate representation of the market, then I think a Norinco made Garand would be a flop. When I bought my one and only Garand I chose the synthetic stocked rifle over the same priced wood stocked version. I have yet to meet anyone who would make the same decision.

I also think that the majority of people who do not care at all about collectorship would probably skip the Garand and go to the M14.

Cuz the real ones are for show & the nork's are for go. If I had a vintage garand from WWII or Korea I would baby this work of art and maybe shoot 20 rounds threw it a year but if I had a nork I would take this thing out every chance I could get and beat on it like a government mule.
