Hungry and I were wondering if there interest in a 2 day M1 Garand clinic in Petawawa on Nov 29-30 ???
Same format as the 2 day M-14 clinics we have had here ....half day or so of tweaking ( not twerking ..lol) and then out to Yankee range for some 600 yard fun.

I'm in! 29-30 Nov in Petawawa...... Low likelihood of rain or of mosquitos.

Now that the "smart" people wear full-on armour at the range for safety purposes, can anyone recommend an armoured snowsuit? ;)

I'd recommend every participant show up with their rifles, all their spare parts and the sales receipts. I imagine there will be much parts trading to find the best fit. Once the parts are swapped, cash changes hands. Most of the recent builds are assembled from parts and likely need to be tightened (or loosened) to come into specification.

I'm in either way, but is this a Garand only clinic or can I bring my China's finest M305 as well? I think my garand is in good shape but the norc has issues.

Myself I would consider the purchase of a Kuhnhausen manual as a much better investment.

The manual is a good idea, however being in a room with 20 or so rifles with various issues and getting hands on experience is a far better experience. All the specialized tools on hand as well. Then going outside and shooting at 600?! Can't imagine having a better value than that. To be honest I didn't price the manual but I'm sure the clinic is probably cheeper. No question to me it will be money ridiculously well spent.

I'd love to know how 2 days of shooting on Yankee range out to 600M and tweaking on M1 rifles for $80.00 (an assumption based on past 2 day clinics) is a bad investment?

I have to date taken a 1 day M14 clinic.
(2) 2 day precision rifle clinics at Yankee range in Petawawa.
(1) 2 day CQB clinic at Echo range in Petawawa.
I can guarantee you that Barney could put on a bagpipe tuning clinic and it would be booked solid.
Many of the participants at this years precision rifle clinic were repeats from last year which says volumes for the level of instruction given.

Yea, manuals are way better than practical experience:

I would be in if my Garand was more than just a stripped receiver. I think building one from scratch would not count as tuning and tweaking lol

Bag pipe tuning! Don't give Barney any ideas. I can just imagine him walking up and down the line during an agony snap squeezing and blowing into one. Even more torturous than the desert eager stories and the singing.
If I have to tune a bag pipe, I will get a manual.
