M1s are my favorite self loading rifles, built strong, accurate, elegant and fun to load and eject. Chambered for a real cartridge too. The m14 does not compare to it in those catergories mentioned, for me of course. However I still keep an M14. It is also fun to have 8 rounds legally.
I willl never forget the day I picked up my M1.
