Hi every one,
I bought an M1 garand for my father a few weeks ago because he always loved them, but I didn't know at the time that they need softer shooting ammo.
He knows this now, and hasn't shot it yet but is kind of bummed that we can't just go to the store, grab some shells and go blasting.
So, I looked into it and learned a bit about vented gas plugs that let you shoot regular power ammo with out bending your op rod.
I found this:
http://www.brownells.com/rifle-part...tem-kits/adjustable-gas-system-prod20456.aspx
Will this do the trick for shooting regular 30-06? Just put it in, open it up and adjust it until the gun cycles properly?
I want to make sure because I would hate to see my old man damage his rifle and I want him to be able to enjoy it.
Thanks a bunch guys!
