Hey, i just got back from the range where I discovered my Garand would pop the clip up after 1-3 shots.

It fired one clip without any problems, but the other clips popped up after 1-3 rounds through.

Any place in Canada I can find a new clip latch?

Some possible causes;
-worn en bloc clip
-weak clip latch spring
-worn clip latch
-bent follower rod
-worn follower rod forks
-worn op rod catch
-worn follower arm
-follower rod rubbing op rod catch

The first 2 should be eliminated first. When enbloc clips are used many times they do become worn. Try a different/new en bloc. Before firing the rifle also needs to be properly lubed with grease as per spec. En blocs should be loaded with the top round on the right, but loading on the left would not prevent premature en bloc ejection.

The enbloc clips should be good, I think it's most likely the clip latch.

You just have to calm down , breath and relax! It probably ain't her first so she might now what she's doing ! Go slow and easy an eventually get the hang of it. When it's working right it is a joy and pleasure to go all 8 rounds before popping your clip.

You should test the rifle again with the en bloc that worked and the one that didn't work to try to replicate the problem. It's hard to judge the amount of wear on a clip by eye. If you can ID the clip(s) that don't work set them aside and try others that do. I'd replace the clip latch spring before replacing the clip latch. Again, the degree of wear on the engagement lug of the clip latch is hard to judge by eye. In my experience the most likely causes of this problem are bad en bloc clips and a weak clip latch spring.

What ammo are you using? Modern ammo uses slower powders than the IMR4895 the M1 is set up for. Excessive bolt battering is the result and can cause the clip to pop even with good enblocs, clip latch and clip latch spring.

I was using Norinco, and Federal. I'm staying away from the Norinco stuff now, one of the rounds expanded in the chamber, and I had to hammer it out with a rod. I have some HSM 168gr ammo that a friend gave to me, but I might just try milsurp next

I hand load for my Garand as I don't want a bent OP Rod, I wouldn't be using that Chicom stuff especially anything over 150gr.

Listen to Supernova!!!!!

I just cleaned it, and greased it with high temperature bearing grease, there's already a major difference in the action, I'll take it to the range tomorrow with the milsurp ammo I got today. Hopefully it works without error

He's arrogant and your ignorant.
Using ammo too hot could result in a trip to the hospital or worse.

You operate under the assumption
I don't know something so obvious, and you say I'm
ignorant?

That's fairly audacious.

Why do you think people ask questions in every forum?

I have asked IF there's any safe commercial loads for a 7.62 Garand. I'm well aware of what to shoot, and what not too shoot to avoid damage, or injury.

That's called diligence, not ignorance.
