M1 Garand Price Now Hits 4 Digits?

Does anyone remember what a brand new Mach 1, Z28, AAR Challenger cost in 1971?

Does anyone really believe that a Hemi 'Cuda is worth $200,000?

Supply and demand. Only so many were made and people want them because they are Muscle Car Classics.

Look at something like a '69 Dodge Daytona. New sticker price was just under $5000 for a Hemi model. That would be what, about $29,000 in today's money?

There were only 70 made with the Hemi and for one year only. So there is a reason they are worth the $200,000 that people are asking for them. To note there were 503 Daytonas made in total, the others had the 440.

Now break that 70 down to 4 speeds (which are more desirable) and you probably only have about 35-40.

Perhaps some thought this funny, however the quickest way to completely destroy the value of something is ads such as these. They destroy confidence in value; no confidence in value = no value and/or fear of fradulent sale price/fear of fraudulent representation of the item. The authors of these ads may want to google, "fraud".

Same could be said for some of the threads, "What's it worth", where someone names a price everyone knows is at least 200% high, and 2 other's agree with it. A week later there's three of them on the EE.

Thought the EE was for adults and transactions between enthusiasts and collectors. Apparently it's heading more towards, "Romper Room and the slimy scam". Really too bad, I've both gotten, and given some very good deals in the past. Deals between Adults showing mutual respect for each other throughout a transaction due to common interest.
Perhaps instead of a moderator they'll have to appoint a baby sitter to the EE.

You just made the point that everyones been trying to prove here for years. If you ever go to the OT you'll find at least one post a month about over priced goods on the EE. The best part is when they have several BTTs on their ads with no price change.

You'll notice that I have one post in the Parts and bits EE that has about 20 BTTs, but that's only because I keep rotating parts through it. No sence selling everything in one post then just to make another and have the MODS have to delete postes when I can just reuse them.

I completely agree.
