:wave:The M1 Garand was a totally different rifle than the bolt action Model M1903 Springfield which it replaced as the standard US service rifle, yet there is some parts commonality between these two rifles. Which parts are interchangeable between these two very different rifles?

I'm going to say the barrel?

Nope, they are totally different. The Garand barrel is lighter with an entirely different outside contour to mount the lower band, rear handguard clip and the gas cylinder. It also has the muzzle end splined for the gas cylinder, a port drilled to conduct gas from the bore to the gas cylinder, and a threaded end for the gas cylinder lock. They are the same caliber and approx the same length though.;)

An accessory however....pull thru and oiler?

They both used this same accessory during WW2 Paul, but it's not a part of the rifle. In the 1950s they devised another cleaning kit for the Garand-take down cleaning rod w/handle which was stored in the little "sock" in the butt socket along with a grease ctnr, a bore brush, and the oiler.
