Yes and no Paul, but you have nailed the second of 2 parts which are interchangeable between the 2 rifles:dancingbanana:. The upper buttplate screw on the Garand is the same one as the upper buttplate screw on the M1903 as well as the 2 screws which are used with the lower sling swivel on the M1903. The lower buttplate screws are different.

Now here's a bit of useful trivia. The upper buttplate screw on the Garand is not only identical to the 3 screws noted on the M1903, but it is also the same screw which is used in the buttplate of the M1 Carbine, the buttplate and lower sling swivel of the US Krag, and even the 1873 Trapdoor Springfield!:eek: Sooo, if you ever need a replacement for one of these, there are several places to go looking for it.
