M1 Garand Stripped Receivers $49.95

I got both of mine today just finished cleaning off the generous layer of Cosmo. A little disappointed I didn't get the "like mint" condition ones, but still happy, appears to be very little wear even though most of the Bluing/park is worn away. Once I get a collection of parts I'll probably repark everything.

But overall I'm happy for $50 each it's a good buy.

Anyway here my receivers!

I wonder if anyone has found either a Breda or a Beretta receiver having a s/n higher than 10,000. The Danes were said to have purchased approx. 10,000 Garands made by each of the Italian makers. Some yrs ago I bought Breda s/n BMR10157, the highest s/n that I've heard of to this point.

Funny you ask. I had heard the same kind of thing and when I was in the shop last week, I started poking around at all of the receivers placed all around the store with packing slips waiting to be shipped out. There were some minty, minty looking ones. I did see a Breda one marked 10355 and thought that may be outside of what I had read in the past.

Not really, but a low number would tend to sport a 1954 barrel, while a higher number would show a 1955 barrel date. I have an original all-Breda rifle in the 7600 s/n range with a 1955 barrel. Like I said, I've seen both 1954 and 1955 barrels made by Beretta and Breda.

I think that there was considerable interplay between Beretta and Breda in the manufacturing process. One of my Berettas is fully Beretta marked, but shows B.M.R. in the drawing number above the right front receiver leg which would indicate that the receiver was produced by Breda for use by Beretta. You also find things like a safety marked BMB/PB which would indicate a shared maker for these. Generally speaking a Beretta rifle should show parts marked PB, while a Breda rifle should have parts marked BMR or BMB.
 
As of the end of today all of them have shipped out except once that were purchased in the last few hours and ones that required more information to process the order.

I added a dozen or so extras on the website for purchase.
