M1 Garands starting at $525.00

The Bamboozler :) will use the phrase "Yes, it's Expensive, but they're hard to Find" which really means feed my wallet if you really want it!

Yup - that's it exactly. And if someone will pay, so be it. For the rarer and nicer stuff, value really is dependent on what someone will pay. And there is nothing wrong with that.

People will be willing to pay whatever you ask for a Plain Jane Reparked Garand with Pitting, No Bore left, Mismatched Wood, (say $6000) just because Private Ryan and the BoB carried one in the movie!,

and only willing to pay ($1000) for a meager papered M1C or M1D.

That's the way it's heading if my prediction is right!

Yes, the Sniper Rifle will be left in the dust and forgotten about and gun buyer stupidity will take over and win again.

* BoB - Band of Brothers (in case you couldn't figure it out on your own!)

Did anyone else notice the explosion of interest in Japanese stuff since The Pacific came out? I am a little guilty I must say... :p

Not surprising. Notice Mosin interest took off after "Enemy at the Gates" and M1 interest went "full retard" after BoB and SPR... the trend continues.
