M1 & M14 White Lettering CRAYONS FREE! Limited number! Raided my colleague's Crayons

As I was cleaning out my office at my high school, I raided my teaching colleague's Crayon bucket and salvaged all the broken and complete crayons for you M14 and Garand lovers. :D

Some of you are familiar with the culture of filling in the stamped or engraved markings on your M1 Garands or M1A's or M14's or M305 or AR15's like this picture:

And also have a look at this effort:

Well, this is what I have for you guys to get started with this fascination.... I have a bunch of broken WHITE crayons and I will mail out a 3/4" piece for you to get started on this practice that's so popular in the USA. :)

Just send me a PM with your address and I will get a chunk of white crayon to you. Other alternate sources of white crayon could be your kids' crayon bucket. You will find the white crayons or crayon pieces at the bottom. Dump the entire crayola bucket into a cookie sheet and happy hunting. You could find China Markers at Staples or the Dollar Store if you are lucky but they sell them in boxes of TENs. You only need ONE of the grease pencils or china markers. That single grease pencil will last you a lifetime of marking receivers and Garand parts! :)

I'm out of town for the July Long Weekend, but send me a PM and I will get them off to you. I only have a limited number and when they are gone, I will have to cruise and then RAID more daycare providers.

More lettering on the portside of my Winnie M70 sniper rig...

And now for the lettering on my Garand:

And here is another view of the lettering on the Garand...the bolt view:

You can also see the heel of the receiver. This Beretta receiver really liked that white crayon application. :D

And now, after finally finishing the build since I began back in March 2014:

Yahoooo, keep on having fun marking up your M14 or M1 Garands. All good fun!

Cheers and keep helping them nooobies!

lmfao. Free crayons.

Glad you are loving this thread. Nobody colors with White crayons, so they have to feel useful, and that's just the ticket... filling in the lettering of your prized rifle. I even filled in the markings on my Winnie Model 70 .260 Rem Sniper rig.

Then I did my Garand markings, and you all know there are many of them markings on the parts all over the M1. Great fun!

Cheers and regards,
Barney

Okay, my wife tells me that she might have tossed them out with my son's junk from university. Hold off the PM's until I find that little ziploc baggie that I brought home. :(

Don't get old. I'm losing my mind! :nest:

Will get back to you once I find that little baggie.

ANOTHER update (5 minutes later) :dancingbanana:

I found the baggie... it was right next to my son's university books ready to head to the recycle pile. One of us left it there. Okay, thanks for your patience. I'm ready to mail out a bunch of them tomorrow. Those of you who asked tonight should get an envelope with that little stub of white crayon soon.

Cheers and have the newbie's backs!

Another generous offering from Barney, nice,

I'm just gonna buy a box from the dollar store, keep the white one and watch my buddies kids eat the rest...shoulda used a rubber.

Just re-indexed another CGNutter from Alberta's M14 shorty just now. I tossed in a grease syringe and a crayon... which reminds me; if you want a crayon stub, give me a shout and I can hook you up. I'm back from the family cottage now.

Cheers,
Barney

The white crayon trick works great, just did one of my M14s and one of my .22s. Thanks for the idea!

Hi Barney,

This would make the tang of my Federal Ordnance M1A look sharp. How does one remove the white crayon, leaving only the white lettering? Please send me a chunk.

Thank you !!

Whoops, Bruce, I don't wanna sound like a teacher (hey, I am a high school teacher) but it's not a great idea to leave your address on the innernet. Too many lurking malicious people outside our kind and supportive community here.

Edit your post and keep it safe. ;) I wrote down you addy and will have crayon stub in the mail today.

Cheers and glad to support our 'Merican bros....

I know a lot of people on CGN who would have called these tactical crayons and sold them for $10 each. Not Hungry. He gives them away for free. I don't need one since my kids don't use their white crayons but thanks.

Still have many crayon chunks for you M14 or Garand lovers. Actually you don't need the crayola white crayon for just the M14 rifle. Here's a picture of my M70 Sniper rig with the serial number filled in....

I filled in all the markings on my M1 Beretta Garand and all over whatever lent itself to white marking! All good fun!

Send me your address if you want one! :D

Cheers

Hey Barney!

Everybody has fun with crayons!

It's a peace time American thing.

I love it... Now what about us old pharts who need reading glasses? That's why I had to mark my rear sight knobs (elevation and windage).

I need to use s2pid reading glasses just to adjust my sights. Did not need that 25 years ago while shooting NRA High Power. Now I cannot scratch my private parts without silly reading glasses from the Dollar Tree or Dollarama. :)

Don't get old! That's my advice to you young 'uns out there in CGNutzland.

Cheers,
Barney
